back number has been chosen to perform the theme song for the TBS Friday drama "Dai Renai ~Boku wo Wasureru Kimi to~," which starts on October 12th (Friday) at 10 PM.
back number 's first time providing a theme song for a drama series in three years, since "クリスマスソング" in 2015. For this project, they read the drama's plot and several episode scripts, and drew inspiration from them to write the mid-tempo love song "オールドファッション."
The drama is a classic, pure love story depicting a miraculous 10-year romance between a female doctor suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's, played by Erika Toda, and a former novelist, played by Tsuyoshi Muro (in his first full-fledged loveラブストーリー inラブストーリー), who brightly and devotedly supports her. It is a completely original drama written by Shizuka Oishi, who has penned the scripts for numerous popular dramas and is known as a "master ofラブストーリー."
=======================
I feel like I've only recently started being able to write songs like this, but at the same time, I feel like I've always written only songs like this.
Even though I met new characters in this drama, I had this strange feeling that I had met myself again.
Because these songs are about everyday life and memories, written now that I've become aware of being an adult, I want them to shine brightly, even if faintly, and to be a little bit sweet.
That's what I think.

=======================
I knew that only back number could do the theme song for this drama. I am overwhelmed with emotion that they have created such a wonderful love song that expresses the feelings of Shinji, played by Muro, towards Nao, played by Toda. I hope you will enjoy thisラブストーリー, which will make you chuckle, feel sad, and leave you with a warm feeling, along with this theme song.
