Thinking about it, I've been reading Gintama every week since it was published in Jump, so it felt a little awkward, like writing a song about friendship for a friend I've known for 14 years, but I was genuinely happy and enjoyed making it.

I think we were able to sing about the world of "Gintama" that exists within us, and the "Gintama" moments in our actual lives, with an intensity that we haven't really explored before.

"Gintama" was fortunate enough to become the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film of last year, I thought we had the right to ask back number, who are currently the most popular band.

The theme is "passionate friendship." Not only did they readily agree to the request, but they also worked diligently on the composition and even prepared several demo tracks for us.

All of them were truly fitting songs for Gintama, but we chose this passionate and cool number as the most suitable for this episode. It's a truly wonderful song that fits the movie perfectly.

"Gintama 2" is now in the final stages of production, and is almost complete. I can confidently say that it's already a masterpiece that surpasses the previous film, but I guarantee that the combination with back number will make it an even more exciting movie.

Let's laugh more, cry more, and get even more excited this last summer of the Heisei era!

This film is set in a parallel world's late Edo period Kabuki-cho, where the once-flourishing samurai are in decline due to the rise of "Amanto" (aliens) from space and the ban on swords. The story follows the various incidents that occur around"Yorozuya Gin-chan,"a general-purpose business run by the protagonist Sakata Gintoki (Shun Oguri), a slightly eccentric man who clings to his samurai spirit, and Shimura Shinpachi (Masaki Suda) and Kagura (Kanna Hashimoto), whom he meets by chance.

The episode being adapted into live-action this time is a surprising hybrid work that combines the "Shinsengumi Rebellion Arc," the hottest arc in Gintama history, and the "Shogun Reception Arc," the funniest arc featuring the secretly popular character,"Shogun-chan,"​the 14th Shogun of the Edo Shogunate!
